Stitched With Purpose, Crafted With Hope!

One crisp Johannesburg morning, our Hiking Champion Jennie Ashwal met Catherine, who was quietly selling her beautiful crocheted animal toys to support herself and her family.

She learned that Catherine had lost an eye to cancer in 2014, learned to crochet toys in 2018 and launched her business selling toys in 2019. Inspired by her skill, spirit, and story, we asked her to create something special for Kusudi La — and the mini-Tanzi mascot was born. We have now added to this collection with our mini-pangolins.

Catherine will receive R180 from the sale of each “Pango” made with love and R100 will go to the  Johannesburg Wildlife Vet for their incredible work with this gentle, vulnerable animal.

William’s Journey to Hope and Creation!

Cross the Divide is a community-driven organisation in Johannesburg’s Ward 90 and its surrounds that helps displaced individuals. It tackles challenges such as homelessness and joblessness head-on, by helping individuals to access essential resources and by fostering employment opportunities. One of these deserving individuals is William with his passion and talent for creating beautiful mosaics. When you buy a mosaic, you not only get a beautiful handcrafted mosaic, but the entire sale proceeds will go directly to William, enabling him to support himself and to create more beautiful works of art. These pieces are beautiful on a wall or table and can be used as trivets for hot pans. Want something else? Bespoke designs or mosaics can be ordered on request.
